The Fearless Flyers have offered another preview of the band’s third self-titled LP with a new track, “Running Man”. The Vulfpeck offshoot is currently crowdfunding for The Fearless Flyers III via Qrates.

Following the lead single, “Patrol Acrobatique“, “Running Man” offers a more complete image of the next Fearless Flyers release. As opposed to its 98-second predecessor, the new single finds the band—composed of Vulfpeck guitarist Cory Wong and bassist Joe Dart along with drummer Nate Smith and guitarist Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy)—starting off with a fairly simplistic “running” chord progression.

Smith sits at the center of the track until it eventually drops into a laid-back blues jam courtesy of Wong. From there on, the groove stretches on into oblivion before the camera—dutifully operated by Vulfpeck chieftain Jack Stratton—fades out.

The Fearless Flyers III will mark the group’s first studio effort since 2020’s full-length release, Tailwinds. It will also signal the second project of the year for Wong, as the prolific guitarist already released Wong’s Cafe last month with the help of his Vulfpeck bandmates.

The enterprising guitarist is also currently on the last leg of a North American tour with The Wongnotes that began last November. Additionally, it was revealed last week that Wong handled production on the forthcoming Kitchen Dwellers album, Wise River.
