In what will certainly be the best live entertainment for Masters Week in Augusta, GA, The Major Rager is set with a number of great performances on Thursday April 9th. The event features performances from the likes of Gov’t Mule, Lettuce, The Revivalists, and the Omega Moos, a supergroup collective of Brendan Bayliss, Ryan Stasik, and Kris Myers of Umphrey’s McGee with Jamie Shields of the New Deal.

The event is actually designed as a benefit, and proceeds will go to Turn Back the Block to help restore the local Augusta community. Similar to the efforts of Habitat for Humanity, Turn Back the Block rehabilitates homes to help ensure all individuals have a place to live. With such amazing talent coming out for a noble cause, the Major Rager is guaranteed to put a smile on everyone’s faces.

All of the bands are at the top of their games, with Gov’t Mule currently rocking an extensive tour with guitar wizard John Scofield. Meanwhile, Lettuce is keeping things as funky as ever, while The Revivalists continue to bring their soul-infused NOLA vibe across the country. We’re also very excited for the return of the Omega Moos, as this UM-tND collaboration has given us some great music in the past. This will be their first performance in nearly two years!

The Major Rager event is the musical highlight of Masters week, but there are certainly others. The Pre-Rager Block Party will feature Scarlet Begonias, a talented Grateful Dead tribute band. The Omega Moos are playing the Major Rager afterparty at Sky City, and opening for them are Funk You, a local jam-funk outfit that are guaranteed to get you grooving.

Furthermore, as Augusta is the hometown of James Brown, you can be sure that the musicians performing will have a few old-school funky tricks up their sleeves. A bronze statue of James Brown directly overlooks the stage, priming the audience for a night of musical satisfaction.

All in all, the Major Rager is shaping up to be one fantastic evening of music. Tickets and more information is available through the Major Rager website. The whole event will also be live streamed via SiriusXM JamON, get more information about that here.
