Colorado’s groove-centric funk act The Motet has announced their first round of 2019 tour dates. The Denver, CO seven-piece consisting of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Ryan Jalbert (guitar), Lyle Divinsky (vocals), Drew Sayers (sax) and Parris Fleming (trumpet) will bring their infectious live show across the country throughout January, February, and March, teaming up with Galactic, John Medeski’s Mad Skillet, and more along the way.
The upcoming winter tour will also coincide with the release of the band’s upcoming studio album, Death Or Devotion, due out on January 25th, 2019. Since The Motet’s inception in 1998, they’ve released eight full-length albums and toured the country relentlessly, playing hundreds and hundreds of shows from coast to coast. Death Or Devotion will mark the first Motet studio effort on which Lyle Divinsky, Drew Sayers, and Parris Fleming were all involved with all aspects of the upcoming record, from writing to recording, and finally mastering and preparing for release. Listen to the first single, “Watcha Gonna Bring”, here.
The Motet still has a number of dates left on the 2018 calendar, including shows with Escort, Cory Wong, Mungion, TAUK, and Sophistafunk, as well as a special NYE show with Moon Hooch and Jaw Gems at the State Theatre in Portland, ME.
