The Motet will get extra funky when the band is joined by an array of special guests at North Beach Music Festival next month. The inaugural edition of the two-day event will see The Motet join forces with Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident), and Shira Elias (formerly of Turkuaz) on December 10th at the North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, FL [get tickets].

This announcement comes as the latest in a long line of guest-filled sets for The Motet this year. On June 4th, the band hosted an all-star engagement at Red Rocks Amphitheatre that included appearances from Hartswick, Hann, Eric KrasnoAntwaun Stanley, and Natalie Cressman. Then just last month at Brooklyn Comes Alive in New York, The Motet—comprised of drummer Dave Watts, guitarist Ryan Jalbert, bassist Garrett Sayers, keyboardist Joey Porter, and saxophonist Drew Sayers—welcomed special guests Eric “Benny” Bloom (Lettuce) and guitarist Jeremy Schon (Pigeons Playing Ping Pong) ahead of a surprise appearance by Shira Elias.

The Spafford & Friends set on December 11th will host sit-ins from guitarists Eric Krasno (Soulive) and Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, keyboardists Alric “A.C.” Carter (TAUK) and Marco Benevento (JRAD), and percussionist Nate Werth (Snarky Puppy, Ghost-Note) as they join Brian Moss (guitar), Andrew “Red” Johnson (keys), Jordan Fairless (bass), and Nick Tkachyk (drums).
