The Roots have detailed the virtual, 2021 edition of their annual Grammy Awards pre-party jam session, set to take place on Saturday, March 13th at 9:00 p.m. ET. While this year’s The Roots Grammy pre-show jam will not feature an in-person audience, fans everywhere will be able to stream the session in virtual reality via the Venues app on Oculus or in regular, 2D video with high-quality audio via TIDAL.
The 2021 edition of the event, which takes place every year in Los Angeles the night before the Grammys, will feature a number of special guests Ari Lennox, Tobe Nwigwe, Ant Clemons, Emily King, Jon Batiste, Brittany Spencer, and Kathy Sledge.
For over a decade, The Roots have hosted one of the most anticipated and dynamic pre-Grammy events in L.A. Every year, music’s best and brightest—newcomers and icons alike—pop-up unannounced to jam with the band and treat their audience to intimate, one-of-a-kind performances. The showcases have brought some of the biggest names in music to the audience. Produced by Live Nation Urban, ESM Productions, and Tina Farris, this year’s pre-Grammys jam with The Roots will feature some of the brightest young talents in music.
