On Friday night, The Werks hit Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver for an intimate, sold-out performance as part of the group’s three-show Colorado run this weekend. During the show, The Werks treated the audience to two blissful sets, including sit-ins from a number of high-profile Colorado-based musicians.

First up was singer Michelle Sarah, who lent her soulful vocals for the first set’s closing number, a cover of Jackie Wilson‘s “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher”. For set two, a major highlight was the band’s take on Gary Jules iconic number “Mad World”, which saw drummer Jeff Franca (also known as Thievery Corporation’s Congo Sanchez) take over behind the drum kit while drummer Rob Chafin took center stage to sing the tune. Toward the end of the set, keyboardist Todd Stoops (Electric Beethoven, RAQ) joined the crew for The Werks’ original number, “Galactic Passport”. Finally, to close things out, for the night’s high-octane encore of “Lights Out” off 2017’s Magic, the band invited a horn section comprised of trumpeter and trombonist Matt Wilkolak and Mark Wilkolak to augment the song.

You can stream the entire show for free below via The Werks’ Bandcamp, or download it for a “name-your-price” cost. You can also listen to the full audio via The Werks’ SoundCloud page here.
