The Wood Brothers have released the third single to appear on the folk’s trio’s forthcoming Kingdom In My Mind studio album. Titled, “Little Bit Sweet”, the new song shared by the American folk trio on Thursday joins “Alabaster” and “Cry Over Nothing” as tracks to appear on Kingdom In My Mind when the album arrives early next year on January 24th via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers.

“Little Bit Sweet” plays on the album’s core themes, and targets the bittersweet beauty of uncontrollable circumstances,  underscored by melancholic lyrics layered over seemingly cheerful melodies. In turn, the beat ebbs and flows, similar to life, and listeners can find comfort in the relatability. Above all, it finds strength in accepting what lies beyond our control.

In a statement to Billboard, guitarist Oliver Wood describes how the upcoming album seemed to come out of nowhere:

We were having fun and doing experiments once we had [our new studio] all wired for sound. The first day we just started jamming, which we love to do, and we didn’t realize it, but we were creating source material for the whole album. The first notes we played are on the album in the track “Little Bit Sweet”.
