The Wood Brothers shared their newest single, “The One I Love”, from their forthcoming studio album, Kingdom In my Mind, on Thursday. The folk trio’s seventh studio album will arrive on January 24th via Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers.

“The One I Love” joins “Alabaster”, “Cry Over Nothing”, and “Little Bit Sweet” as Kingdom In My Mind singles. Brothers Chris Wood and Oliver Wood, along with drummer and keyboardist Jano Rix, tracked the Zydeco-inspired tune. It effectively finds a balance between darkness and light and plays on the album’s central themes.

“Everyone has these little kingdoms in their minds,” says Chris. “The songs on this album all explore the ways we find peace within those kingdoms. They look at how we deal with our dreams and our regrets and our fears and our loves.”
