A new in-ear wireless audio system may change the way we hear the world. Here Active Listening is designed as a “remote control for your ears,” allowing you to control your audio environment using a smartphone app.
Here lets you cater your audio experience to your particular situation using various settings including a volume knob, equalizer and special effects. Real world volume control allows you to adjust your audio environment based on particular surroundings. Pre-set filters determine ideal effects and settings. For instance, while at a show you might want to boost the bass and add reverb, while on an airplane you might feel more inclined to drown out the sounds of babies crying and engines roaring.
The revolutionary wireless earbud system from Doppler Labs is backed by Quincy Jones and composer Hans Zimmer.
Doppler labs co-founder and CEO Noah Kraft told Rolling Stone, “Our hope is that Here will open up a new paradigm for the concert experience and for live listening. Here has the potential to make every seat in the house the best seat in the house, from an audio perspective. You will be able to dial-in the perfect EQ for your environment, but also, as we build the Here platform, Doppler Labs will be able to recommend the perfect volume, EQ and effects for any given section based on your own historical audio preferences and the acoustics of that specific room.”
Here launched a Kickstarter where it quickly surpassed its goal of $250,000, so it’s looking like these babies will be on the market soon. Learn more about the active listening system in the video below.
