Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has announced a new solo record, ANIMA, set to be released on digital platforms next Thursday, June 27th. Physical copies of ANIMA will be released on Friday, July 19th. The vinyl edition of the album will include a special bonus track, “Ladies & Gentlemen, Thank You For Coming”. You can pre-order your copy today here.

The nine-track album was written by Yorke and produced by his longtime collaborator, Nigel Godrich. The album contains a number of songs that debuted during Yorke’s tour with Godrich and Tarik Barri behind Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes.

The new album will also be accompanied by a “one-reeler” created by lauded filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, which will be released on Netflix on June 27th. You can also catch a special IMAX preview of the film in select theaters on June 26th. The ANIMA film will be scored by a trio of songs from the album. As the project’s announcement video notes, a “one-reeler” is “a motion picture, especially a carton or comedy, of 10-12 minutes duration contained on one real of film; popular especially in the era of silent films.” You can watch the announcement video for Thom Yorke’s ANIMA below:
