Stephen Bruner (a.k.a. Thundercat) has released his fourth full-length studio album with the arrival of It Is What It Is on Friday via Brainfeeder. Produced by Steven Ellison (a.k.a. Flying Lotus)–these Los Angeles cats crush the nickname game in their scene–the 15 track project follows 2017’s Drunk, and features a mix of special guests including Ellison, Childish Gambino, Louis Cole, Steve Lacy, Kamasi Washington, Steve Arrington, Ty Dolla $ign, Zack Fox, and more.

Of the 15 recordings featured on It Is What It Is, four include previously-released singles “Fair Chance”“Dragonball Durag”, “Black Qualls”, and “Interstellar Love”.
