Following an opening performance by Laurie AndersonRubin KodheliJesse Paris Smith, and Tenzin Choegyal, Sandra Oh read an Allen Ginsberg poem, “When The Light Appears”. Matt Berninger and Phoebe Bridgers then followed with their duet, “Walking on a String”, before the Scorchio Quartet accompanied them on “GardenSong”.

Iggy Pop eventually took the stage, turning the elegant Carnegie Hall into a punk rock show with a rendition of The Stooges‘ “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, and of course, ripping off his suit jacket. Americana singer-songwriter Margo Price followed, and performed “Better Than Nothin'” for the very first time before Bettye LaVette showed off her soulful vocals with a cover of George Harrison‘s “Isn’t It a Pity”. Patti Smith then closed out the 33rd Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert with her anthem, “People Have the Power”.
