Tim Bluhm, guitarist/vocalist of The Mother Hips, suffered a major accident while speed flying back in September, leaving him with a shattered right hip, a completely snapped left ankle, and other injuries. So far, Bluhm has undergone five surgeries, with another two scheduled in the near future, and has had several bone infections which require antibiotics that are not covered by insurance.

Though Bluhm does have health insurance, the cost of the surgeries and medications have still left him in $50,000 (and rising) worth of debt. As you can imagine, it has been difficult for him to play gigs during the recovery process, with many shows having to be canceled and/or rescheduled. Bluhm did return to the stage in November with Scott Law at Terrapin Crossroads and most recently was in the recording studio with Peter Rowan, but the ability to play on a regular basis and earn a living has been difficult at best.

Photographer and long-time friend Jay Blakesburg took it upon himself to create a GoFundMe page for Bluhm, to help alleviate some of the ever-rising medical costs that he has incurred over the last few months and in the foreseeable future.
