Tom Hamilton has shared a video of his solo, acoustic performance of “Running In Place”, the latest installment from the Miami Sessions presented by Sugarshack and Live For Live Music.

The video begins in what could easily be the Joe Russo’s Almost Dead/Ghost Light guitarist’s living room, but is actually the cozy studio that Sugarshack uses for its ongoing YouTube series. After over a minute of ambient guitar notes drenched in a reverb that Hamilton adjusts mid-song with his foot, he eventually starts into the song’s soft, melodic vocals. “I dig your skin, sunlight on a frosted lake/Coyote body Southwestern state/I dig your moves, sidestepping indeliberate,” Hamilton sings as he brings his falsetto voice high enough to match the guitar, which has a capo high on the seventh fret. “Don’t punch me in the face/who does that sort of thing anyway,” he ponders in his soft, vulnerable voice.
