Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk will drop into the music festival business with Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam. The inaugural multi-disciplinary festival will combine live music, skateboarding, video games, and more at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center May 12th–15th.

Topping the musical lineup are Modest MouseDescendantsDEVO, and X. Also performing throughout Weekend Jam are Cold CaveThe VandalsWarishRough Francis, and The Downhill Jam. A number of acts hold a special connection to Hawk and his skateboarding dynasty, with horror punk rockers Warish fronted by Tony’s son Riley. The Downhill Jam brands itself as “America’s finest Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Cover Band”, covering punk, ska, and metal songs from throughout the THPS franchise.

In addition to the musical lineup, Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam will feature an array of professional skateboarders. X Games veterans Andy Macdonald, Bucky Lasek, Rune Glifberg, and Sandro Dias will join vert veterans including Christian Hosoi and Steve Caballero, groundbreaking American-Finnish skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, and innovative punk skater Kevin Staab. More skateboarders will join the lineup closer to the event.

Skaters of all skill levels will compete in contests with both men’s and women’s brackets including best trick. The professionals will put on a skate demo and Tony Hawk will host an awards ceremony for the competition winners. Those more attuned to Hawk’s video game franchise than the sport itself can enjoy a gaming lounge to play all the classics hosted by Gaming Community Network (GCN).

Tickets for the inaugural Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam are on sale now. A press release for the event noted that “This will be the first stop for Tony Hawk’s Weekend Jam.”
