TOOL made a big return to the pop/rock spotlight earlier this year with the blockbuster August release of their first studio album in 13 years with the chart-topping Fear Inoculum. On Wednesday, the band announced they will release an “Expanded Book Edition” of the long-awaited album next month.
Fear Inoculum, which has already sold out of its standard vinyl edition via RCA Records, will soon be available for fans to purchase via an updated expanded book edition set to arrive on December 13th. The expanded edition will include 5 3D lenticular cards showcasing exclusive graphics, a 56-page booklet with never-before-seen artwork, a video download of the band’s groundbreaking immersive visual experience for “Recusant Ad Infinitum”, and a CD copy.
Following its release back on August 30th, Fear Inoculum‘s first-week sales and equivalent album unit numbers marked the biggest week for any rock album since Dave Matthews Band‘s Come Tomorrow debuted at #1 in June 2018. Similar to the rest of their studio catalog, the band’s new album is now available for listening on all major streaming platforms.
News of the Expanded Book Edition of the album comes just a few days after TOOL announced their first batch of 2020 North American tour dates set to begin in early January. The band’s current North American fall run continues this week with a performance at the TD Garden in Boston, MA on November 14th.
