Los Angeles-bred progressive metal quartet Tool has detailed the release of its “Ultra Deluxe” Fear Inoculum vinyl. Originally released on August 30th, 2019, Fear Inoculum marked the band’s first studio album since 2006’s 10,000 Days.

Back on February 20th, Tool posted a video to Instagram depicting the unboxing of the new LP and noted that a limited run of autographed copies would be for sale only at shows to Tool Army VIP Package holders. These autographed copies cost $810 at the merch table and would be available at the shows in Philadelphia, PA; Elmont, NY; Newark, NJ; Buffalo, NY; and Pittsburgh, PA; or until the supply run out.

Then on Friday, February 26th, Tool took to Instagram once more, announcing that non-autographed copies of the Ultra Deluxe Fear Inoculum would arrive on April 8th via RCA Records and cost a much more reasonable $169.98. The Grammy Award-winning release will come spread over five 180-gram LPs along with new artwork conceptualized by guitarist Adam Jones. The vinyl will be playable on the A-side with artistic etchings on the unplayable B-side. This limited-edition set will also feature a new cover with high-quality foil and a hard shell box.

The album is available for pre-order now via Amazon Music and will be held at local record shops on April 24th for Record Store Day. Scroll down for a full tracklist and album artwork.

Tool is currently amid an extensive 2022 tour that has seen the band travel across the U.S. throughout January and February. Up next for the four-piece is a stop at Newark, NJ’s Prudential Center tonight, February 26th, followed by Buffalo, NY’s KeyBank Center tomorrow. Head to the band’s website for tickets and a full list of tour dates.
