On Friday night, Trey Anastasio continued his ongoing solo acoustic tour with a performance at Ann Arbor, MI’s Michigan Theater.
After opening up his setlist with “Set Your Soul Free”, Trey explained to the crowd, “I played here in—a lot of times actually. But I did play my first-ever solo acoustic show here [Ann Arbor] in 1999. I played this song [‘Snowflakes in the Sand’] and I don’t think I played it again for years and years and years. Scott Marks [Phish.net/The Mockingbird Foundation] was very kind to reach out a couple times and asked to play this tune. Scott wherever you are, I wanna thank you for that because I do love this song. It was debuted on this same stage in 1999.” Trey then went into “Snowflakes in the Sand”, which was followed up by “The Inlaw Josie Wales”, “Turtle In The Clouds”, “Twist”, “Water In The Sky”, and the acoustic debut of Ghosts of the Forest‘s “If Again”.

Trey continued on with a balanced mix of Phish favorites and Ghosts of the Forest material including “Sample in a Jar”, “Brian and Robert”, “Miss You”, “Wolfman’s Brother”, “Till We Meet Again”, “Back On The Train”, “In Long Lines”, “Bug”, “Joy”, “Pebbles and Marbles”, “Strange Design”, “Farmhouse”, “Sleep”, “Shade”, “Everything’s Right”, “Ghosts of the Forest”, “Blaze On”, and a set-closing take on “Say It To Me S.A.N.T.O.S.”. Trey returned to deliver a three-song encore of “Waste”, “A Life Beyond The Dream”, and “More”.
