Trey Anastasio Band returned to The Wiltern on Saturday to wrap up a two-night stand at the Los Angeles theater. Of note, Stewart Copeland, the drummer for The Police and Anastasio’s Oysterhead bandmate, was in attendance for the performance.

The show kicked off with “Blaze On” and “Cayman Review” followed by “My Problem Right There”, the Hands on a Hardbody track that was revived at Trey solo shows last year. “Camel Walk” and “Drifting” came next before the band dove into Phish favorite “Undermind”, marking the second TAB performance of the song in as many weekends after it made just two TAB appearances in all of 2019.

Following a run through classic Phish instrumental “Magilla”, the band moved into new territory with the debut of a new tune, “All Pretending”. Another TAB rarity made its second 2020 appearance next with “Sidewalks of San Francisco” before the band closed out set one with “Set Your Soul Free”.

After a brief setbreak, the band returned to kick off set two with Ghosts of the Forest‘s “Sightless Escape”. The band kept the momentum up with a fiery “Sand” before moving into “Valentine”. An emotional run through Ghosts of the Forest lament “Friend” came next, followed by “Burlap Sack and Pumps”. From there, the band closed out the set with a run of TAB/Phish crossovers in “Gotta Jibboo”, “46 Days”, “Shade”, “Plasma”, and “First Tube”.

The band returned for the encore with a special surprise: A beautifully harmonized a cappella rendition of Wizard of Oz classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” marking just the second-ever TAB performance of the song. From there, the band members returned to their instruments to close out the encore with “Show of Life” and “Push On ‘Til The Day”.
