Trey Anastasio Band percussionist Cyro Baptista had his Michael Jordan moment during the group’s show at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX on Friday night. As Trey Anastasio explained in a post on his Facebook, the TAB percussionist played through a serious case of the flu during Friday’s performance before heading to the hospital for treatment.

Cyro Baptista will miss the band’s Saturday night performance at Houston’s House of Blues as he recuperates. The post did not mention when Cyro would be back in action, but we can only assume that the endlessly charismatic percussionist will get back onstage the moment he’s healthy enough to do so.

You can read the full post from Trey Anastasio Band about Cyro Baptista below:

We are all so proud of our soul brother Cyro Baptista, who soldiered thru last night’s gig in Austin despite the onset of a bad case of the Flu. Unfortunately his symptoms got much worse last night and he was taken to the ER. He is currently recuperating in Austin and won’t be able to join us for the gig in Houston.

We all send mountains of love to you Cyro!

Get well soon!
your loving band mates, Jen, Natalie, Russ, James, Tony, Ray, and Trey ❤️
