Trey Anastasio is back with a new addition to his quarantine single series, and the Phish guitarist is looking extra dapper this time around. The lengthy song shared on Wednesday entitled, “…And Flew Away”, marks the first new solo single from Anastasio since “A Wave of Hope” arrived last month.

The full-band rock track is accompanied by a music video that also acts as a performance piece by the limber Anastasio, who has matched subtle choreography with crafty editing to enhance the dreamy themes of the song. Eventually, the viewer is taken out of Anastasio’s apartment and above the streets of New York City and out to the countryside, through into the cosmos, and beyond. The entire song stretches out to 8:28 minutes in length, making for quite the captivating experience from start to finish.

Trey Anastasio has released a steady stream of new videos from his Manhattan apartment since the lockdowns began including “A Wave of Hope”, “I Wish I Could See The World“, “Evolve”, “Till We Meet Again“, “The Silver Light“, “My World Is My Home“, “Are You There Colleen?”“If Again”“Lonely Trip”“Shaking Someone’s Outstretched Hand”“I Never Left Home”“Lotus”“When The Words Go Away”“Timeless”“I Never Needed You Like This Before”“The Greater Good”, and “Lost In The Pack”. All of this is in addition to the new Phish album, Sigma Oasis, released back on April 2nd.

As with virtually every band in the country, Phish recently confirmed that their 2020 summer tour will be pushed to 2021 as we continue to navigate the ongoing global health crisis. That fact, however, isn’t stopping the band from gathering its fans for regular shared experiences via their weekly Tuesday night Dinner and a Movie archival streaming series.
