[12/24/20, 11:00 a.m.] Phish’s Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell have announced a special Christmas Eve surprise set to air on LivePhish and SiriusXM Phish Radio today, Thursday, December 24th, at 2 p.m. ET.

Whatever this surprise may be, Trey and Page seem to be keeping the specifics under wraps until 2 p.m. The announcement came inconspicuously on Thursday morning with a simple post on Phish social media with the caption, “Page McConnell & Trey Anastasio. 2PM ET / 11AM PT. Youtube.com/phish / Phish Radio/ LivePhish.”

The only portion of this mysterious announcement that may provide clues as to what’s in the proverbial box is the photo shared along with the social media announcement—a new twist on an image with which we’re quite familiar. The image shows Trey and Page during their porch session at Trey’s Barn studio in Vermont carrying a keyboard in the style of Phish’s Colorado ’88 album cover, much like they did with a keyboard-shaped cake on New Year’s Eve 2013. Fans have seen this recreation of the famous album cover before, too, as it was included in one of the several Page and Trey duo videos shared in conjunction with The Beacon Jams in October and November. Watch the Page McConnell and Trey Anastasio performance of “Evening Song” premiered prior to The Beacon Jams Night 3 below:

This time, however, there’s a twist: One of the evergreen trees in the background of the image has been edited to look like a trimmed Christmas tree, complete with lights and a star on top. What surprises await Phish fans under Trey and Page’s tree? Tune in at 2 p.m. ET on Phish’s YouTubeLivePhish, or SiriusXM Phish Radio (Channel 29) to find out.
