On Tuesday, Trey Anastasio released a new acoustic single, “Sunset Days”, which was recorded for and appears in his feature-length documentary, Between Me and My Mind.
In December, Anastasio debuted the song during a solo acoustic performance at Boulder, CO’s Mackey Auditorium, marking the lone time “Sunset Days” has been performed live. “Sunset Days” appears during the closing scene in Between Me and My Mind, a film that offers “a deep, intimate look into the mind of Anastasio and captures him as he works through some of his most personal song ideas to date, placing his relationships with friends and family at its core. At the same time, the film also shows the musician preparing for one of Phish’s legendary New Year’s Eve shows at Madison Square Garden, culminating with an exhilarating, elaborately produced moment when the clock strikes midnight.”

Texas-native trio Khruangbin welcomed Trey for a lengthy sit-in during their performance at night one of LOCKN’ 2019. Tonight, Friday, August 23rd, Trey will return to LOCKN’ with his Trey Anastasio Band outfit for a special performance, which will feature guitarist Derek Trucks for the entirety of the second set. On Saturday, Trey will return the favor and join Tedeschi Trucks Band for a collaborative set.
