Fans hoping to catch A Tribe Called Quest at Outside Lands had their hopes dashed not once but twice this weekend, as the iconic hip-hop crew’s set was cancelled, rescheduled, and then cancelled yet again.
Initially slated to perform on Friday evening (alongside Fleet Foxes, Gorillaz, and others), “unforeseen” travel issues” caused them to postpone the performance until the following night. However, just over an hour before their rescheduled Saturday 7pm performance, the festival informed attendees via Twitter that the group was forced to cancel their appearance entirely.
1) We are deeply disappointed that we’ve just been informed A Tribe Called Quest will not make their scheduled performance at Outside Lands.

2) Claude VonStroke will perform 7pm – 8:05pm on Twin Peaks.

RAC and Little Dragon shuffled their sets around to fill in for the vacated schedule slot on Friday, while DJ Claude VonStroke filled in for Tribe on Saturday. In May, A Tribe Called Quest had canceled their summer European tour dates due to a shoulder injury sustained by Q-Tip.
The group has yet to comment on the cancelled festival date, and Outside Lands has not issued any statement beyond their announcement that the Saturday set had been cancelled. Here’s hoping everyone is safe and healthy.
A Tribe Called Quest is scheduled to perform alongside other New York hip-hop royalty like Jay Z, Nas, LL Cool J and more at the upcoming Meadows Music Festival in Flushing, NY.
