Trombone Shorty is one of those artists that came out of the womb able to play music and entertain the masses. And that sentiment isn’t very far off, as the New Orleans-born star was joining the legendary Bo Diddley on stage at NOLA Jazz and Heritage Festival at the age of 4. With the spotlight on him from such an early age, even at 31 years old, Shorty is beyond a seasoned veteran that has joined forces with some of the biggest names in the business. Along with his band Orleans Avenue, he is set to return to New York City’s Terminal 5 next Friday, October 13th, and Saturday, October 14th, with L.A. retro rockers Vintage Trouble (purchase tickets here).

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue put on a powerful performance, mixing all the musical elements, including jazz, funk, rock, and hip-hop, seamlessly together. The group made a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They were joined by the shows bandleader Jon Batiste (a fellow attendee of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts – NOCCA) and Stay Human, for a performance of the classic Allen Toussaint number “Here Comes The Girls,” which appears on Shorty’s latest album Parking Lot Symphony via Blue Note Records. Check out the revamped number below:

Vintage Trouble embodies the blues rock stylings of the late 1950’s and 60’s, along with a fervent energy both in the studio and live settings that immediately draws in every audience the Los Angeles-based group quartet plays in front of. The group, led by dynamic frontman Ty Taylor, along with guitarist Nalle Colt, bassist Rick Barrio Dill, and drummer Richard Danielson, have toured in support of The Who, AC/DC, Dave Matthews Band, and performed at festivals all across the globe, including multiple rocking performance at Glastonbury. After you see them once, you are hooked. It’s that simple.

Tickets for Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at Terminal 5 on Friday, October 13th, and Saturday, October 14th, are currently on-sale and can be purchased here. For show updates and additional information, join the Facebook Event page.
