Brooklyn-based nine-piece Turkuaz is gearing up to release their new album, Life In The City, due out September 28th. Following the album’s title track, the band has released a brand new single, “If I Ever Fall Asleep”, accompanied by a live music video that provides a behind-the-scenes look into the song’s recording process.
The recording of “If I Ever Fall Asleep” took place at guitarist and vocalist Dave Brandwein’s Galaxy Smith Studios in Brooklyn. Inspired by Talking Heads‘ acclaimed Stop Making Sense concert film, the single was produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads. As the press release notes, “The band’s signature upbeat funk is a contrast to a role-play of the paranoid ramblings of an insomniac before embracing his own unraveling.” Watch Turkuaz perform “If I Ever Fall Asleep” from the upcoming Life In The City album below:

Turkuaz is currently on the road in support of the new album, traveling across the U.S to deliver their signature blend of high-octane funk and soul. The tour will feature exciting performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on September 23rd and at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on October 19th, before the band closes out 2018 with a bang on New Year’s Eve at The Palladium in Worcester, MA.
