Turkuaz is just starting to heat up while the temperatures around the country continue to cool down as the nine-piece funk machine brought their KUADROCHROME Tour in support of their new album and updated color scheme to Philadelphia’s Theatre of The Living Arts (TLA) on Friday. The weekend-opening show at TLA was just the second stop on the band’s 2019-2020 winter tour, as the run began the night prior in Fairfield, CT on Thursday.

The band’s show on Friday showcased their new look for their Philly fans, in addition to treating the night’s attendees to performances of all the new songs that appear on KUADROCHROME. Some notable covers sprinkled throughout the set included takes on John Lennon‘s “Jealous Guy”, Smokey Robinson‘s “Do Like I Do”, and David Byrne‘s “Big Business”, which moved right into their own “Murder Face”.

Fans should get used to the band’s take on David Byrne and Talking Heads material, as just this week Turkuaz confirmed and extended their planned Remain In Light collaboration performances with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew with new festival appearances at Michigan’s Electric Forest and Pennsylvania’s Peach Music Festival set for summer 2020.

The band’s winter tour picks up again next Thursday (12/12) with a show at Bell’s Eccentric Café in Kalamazoo, MI. Head to the band’s website for tickets and tour info.
