Twiddle delivered a holiday performance at Brooklyn Bowl in New York on Thursday to kick off a three-night run. The celebrations were two-fold, as March 17th marked not only St. Patrick’s Day, but also keyboardist Ryan Dempsey‘s birthday. The entire concert also featured Adrian Taramonto (Kung Fu) filling in on drums for Brook Jordan.

The show featured a bevy of Twiddle’s live staples, starting with the opening “Nicodemus Portulay” which saw teases of the Harry Potter theme. Up next came a “Breakadidown” that sandwiched “Every Soul” into the middle of the jam. Twiddle opted to “Keep Going” through set one ahead of “Amydst the Myst” and the tale of the “Jamflowman”. The first frame then came to a close with “Daydream Farmer”.

Taking the stage for set two, the Vermont quartet began with “Enter” before the transitional trip to “Orlando’s”. For the ensuing “Syncopated Healing”, the man of the hour Ryan Dempsy donned a furry elephant suit and delivered a blistering keytar solo. “Apples” followed ahead of “White Light” and “Mildew Man” before a cover of Primus‘ “Too Many Puppies”. Twiddle then closed out the second set with “Doinkinboink!!!”.

Returning for the encore, Twiddle linked up a pair of classics with “Hatties Jam” into “When It Rains It Poors” to close out Thursday’s show. The band returns to Brooklyn Bowl tonight, March 18th, for the second of three shows. For tickets and a full list of tour dates click here.
