This past Friday, Twiddle returned to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY for two nights of music as part of the band’s annual “Frendsgiving extravaganza. The weekend featured opening performances from groove-rock outfit Aqueous, in addition to Twiddle’s headlining sets.

On night one of the holiday weekend run, Twiddle opened their second set of the evening by welcoming Brandon “Taz” Niederauer to help play on a pair of original tunes in “Milk” and “Apples”. Later in the evening, the show came to a thrilling end when fans were treated to an encore cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s classic rock radio anthem, “Free Bird”. The well-known song/concert joke featured a pair of sit-ins from Niederauer, along with Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer.

Twiddle’s show-closing performance of Skynyrd’s famous ballad featured Mihali leading the way on vocals, Niederauer strumming away on the rhythm section, and Gantzer providing the song’s slide guitar parts. Together, the three–along with the rest of the band–led the way on charging into the song’s climactic solo ending.

Niederauer took the first part of the solo, with Mihali staying close behind as the two eventually combined their intense guitar playing for a truly satisfying end to Friday’s show.
