Twiddle and Anders Beck (Greensky Bluegrass) have teamed up on a new studio single, “Distance Makes The Heart”. Coming on the heels of Twiddle’s previous single, “The Devil” featuring John Popper (Blues Traveler), the new release explores themes of isolation and life on the road. It is accompanied by an official lyric video with scenes that trace the development of Twiddle’s storied career.
“Distance Makes The Heart” was produced by Clint Bierman and recorded by Roger Stauss and Samuel Johnson at Sugarworks Soundhouse in Waitsfield, VT. Guitarist/vocalist Mihali Savoulidis wrote the song at the beginning of the pandemic, and the lyrics reflect the strangeness of the period when people first transitioned to social distancing.
“The song is about finding yourself in an unfamiliar way of life, isolated from the ones you love,” the singer notes. “It reflects upon how much better things are when we’re all together.”
Anders Beck of Greensky Bluegrass joins Twiddle on the track, providing accompaniment and an expressive dobro solo.
“I really enjoyed getting to join the guys on this track!” he said. “The fact that this song is such an ear-worm made it a blast to jam on.”
“Distance Makes The Heart” is now available on all streaming platforms. Watch the official lyric video below.
