This time of summer would normally welcome another installment of the annual Twiddle festival Tumble Down in Burlington, VT. Though live music has finally re-entered the lives of many, the band still opted to keep things small this year. Instead of the annual multi-band, multi-day lineup of music at Waterfront Park, the Vermont natives instead hosted Double Down at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, VT.

The weekend saw Twiddle perform two sets and, even though they were the only band on the lineup, that didn’t keep some special friends from stopping by. Saturday’s concert hosted special appearances from Twiddle keyboardist Ryan Dempsey‘s father, Dr. Stephen Dempsey, on saxophone for a cover of The Beatles‘ “Rocky Racoon” as well as Dopapod guitarist Rob Compa on a “When It Rains” encore that closed out the weekend.
