Last night, Twiddle performed at the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, PA. Following the band’s set on Thursday night, Friday night was billed as “Twiddle & Frends”, welcoming a variety of special guests throughout the set of mostly covers, including members of the Grateful Dead, Midnight North, The Revivalists, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Spafford, Turkuaz, and Kitchen Dwellers.
Besides Bob Marley’s “Iron Lion Zion” and John Prine‘s “Angel From Montgomery”, the setlist contained all original material from the musicians on stage. Of course, Twiddle’s “Lost In The Cold”, “Every Soul”, “Apples”, “Subconscious Prelude”, and “When It Rains It Pours” appeared throughout the set, featuring special guest collaborations with the Turkuaz Horns, Jeremy Schon from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Andrew “Red” Johnson from Spafford, and Ed Williams from The Revivalists. But on top of that, Twiddle welcomed out mandolinist Shawn Swain and banjoist Torrin Daniels to perform back-to-back Kitchen Dwellers originals, “Mountain” and “Visions of Mohr”. Toward the end of the set, Twiddle & Frends rotated through Phil Lesh, Grahame Lesh, and Elliot Peck–who were all on deck for their Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band set later that evening–to collaborate on the Grateful Dead’s “Bertha” and “Eyes of the World”.
While Twiddle certainly had some of their set planned out, the nature of the music festival quickly took hold and welcomed the many talented musicians to collaborate, let loose, and just have fun. As such, the setlist below dictates the original plan and has not yet been updated with the impromptu collaborations. Watch a fan-shot video of the entire set below.
