Twiddle wrapped up their Thanksgiving 2016 Tour with a two-night escapade at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA this past weekend, November 25th and 26th. In similar fashion as last year’s run at the same venue, Twiddle brought the Thanksgiving cheer to an eager crowd to celebrate the holiday weekend.

Opening night one was The Jauntee, a band local to Massachusetts who have a psychedelic sound truly unique in the northeast. The quartet got the weekend off to a great start before Twiddle took the stage around 10:30 pm.

Twiddle started their weekend catalog with the warm tones of “Dusk Til’ Dawn” with drummer Brook Jordan on lead vocals. They meandered their way into a strong “Doink n Boink” before settling in and jamming fluidly through the rest of set one which ended with an emotional “White Light.” Going into the first set break of the weekend the message to “Love Relentlessly” echoed through the crowd, and it was no question that the love would permeate through every soul in the building all weekend.

“Brown Chicken Brown Cow” set the tone for a fun and bouncy second set with “Mamunes the Faun” and “Fire on High” being clear highlights. The band encored with “Daydream Farmer” before the crowd headed back to their homes and hotels to rest up and prepare for a second night of music ahead.

Night two opened up with lespecial, a 3-piece band heavily influenced by Primus with a hint of electronic and reggae beats. Their set made for very identifiable and enjoyable sound.

Twiddle gave a friendly nod to lespecial when they included “Too Many Puppies,” a Primus cover, into their first set of the night, keeping the heavy rock vibes going strong. Mihali Savoulidis continued to shred his way through the night before ending the set with the vocally driven songs “Five” and “Every Soul,” which can be tear jerkers for many and were an appropriate way to end an emotional set.

Check out Twiddle’s extended jam on “The Box” in set two, with a cover of Daft Punk’s “Robot Rock” sandwiched in the middle.

The weekend ended with a touching cover of Grateful Dead’s “Eyes of the World”, with Savoulidis playing a 50th Anniversary Garcia Tiger beautifully crafted by Lieber guitars.

The weekend was one not soon to be forgotten, but fans have much to look forward to with yet another two night run set for the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY this December! Check out the setlists from each night below, courtesy of uTwiddle, as well as a full gallery from ATS Photography.
