[UPDATE: 9/1/20] – The Umphrey’s McGee “Got Your Song (Right Here)” auction on eBay has now closed. The auction received 85 total bids, with the winning bid coming in at $10,200. Here’s hoping whoever the high bidder was shares the creation with the world.

[8/26/20] Umphrey’s McGee wants to write a special song just for you. Seriously. In an announcement dubbed “Got Your Song (Right Here)”—a play on their tune “Got Your Milk (Right Here)”—the prog-jam sextet explained that they are auctioning off a new, custom song to the highest bidder on eBay.

The eBay auction page, which already shows 30 bids and a nearly $500 price tag after being live for just 20 minutes, is listed as being in “Like New” condition—or, as the listing clarifies, “technically entirely new, but only moderately rehearsed.”

[UPDATE: 8/27/20, 5:00 p.m.] – As of the end of the work day on Thursday, the song had received 83 bids, with the high bid sitting at over $10,000.

Have you ever wanted to emphatically say “I told you so” in song form? Or ever fantasized about having your very own “get out of the doghouse” song at the ready? You give us the name of your girl or boyfriend that you hope to be with forever. And we give you the preemptive apology you (hopefully) will never need. We all make mistakes, so why not be prepared?

Your song, with accompanying cover art, will be delivered no later than September 25th.
