Last night, Umphrey’s McGee stopped at Champaign, IL’s Canopy Club, the band’s most played venue, for a rowdy two-set occasion. The six-piece offered up an original debut in the second set, as well as a handful of bust-outs, as the band dug deep into their extensive catalogue.

Umphrey’s McGee opened up the first set with “Cut Off”, before working through “Wizard Burial Ground” and “Thin Air”. Up next was the first bust-out of the evening, as Umphrey’s offered up the first “Liquid” in 194 shows, laced with a “Q*Bert” jam. With Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss locked in, UM tore through “Similar Skin” and “Pooh Doggie”, before closing the first set with the recently debuted “It Doesn’t Matter”.

Following a brief set break, Umphrey’s McGee came back out and opened the second set with “Phil’s Farm”, which featured “The Imperial March” and “Binary Sunset” teases. Up next was “Dirty Love”, before UM worked through “Nemo”, “1000 Places To See Before You Die”, “FF” and “All Things Ninja”. Following a improv-heavy segment, the six-piece rock outfit offered up an original debut, “Hanging Chads”, before hopping back into “All Things Ninja”. Umphrey’s McGee closed the second set with “Take Me Away”, played for the first time since 11/22/2015. Following a brief break to catch their breaths, UM came back out to offer up a two song encore of “Soul Food I” and “Baby Honey Sugar Darlin'”, the latter played for the first time in 637 shows!
