Umphrey’s, which celebrated Halloween with a special Police-themed performance in Washington, D.C. the night prior, took the stage to open their gig at the Philadelphia venue with “Wizard Burial Ground”. The song went unfinished as the music transitioned into “Resolution” which featured a jam themed around Tom Petty‘s “Free Fallin'”. The music kept rocking into “The Floor”, which itself featured a tease of “Stew Art Event” before coming to a close. “Words” came next, followed by “Der Bluten Kat” and “Whistle Kids” into “Glory” to close the opening set.
Umphrey’s returned to the stage to start the second half of the show with “Believe the Lie” which itself opened with the main hook of The Chantays‘ “Pipeline”. The second set continued with “Phil’s Farm”, followed by a three-song segue of “Miami Virtue”, the revisit of “Stew Art Event”, and “Smell the Mitten”. The reprise of the “Stew Art Event” tease marked the first appearance of the song since their May 1st, 2015 concert in Las Vegas.
The set came to a close with “Divisions”. The band returned to open their encore by first teasing Ween‘s “Freedom of ’76” before wrapping the night with their own “Freedom ’90”.
