Umphrey’s McGee started Labor Day Weekend early as the rock band brought their summer tour to New Hampshire’s, Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom with support from BIG Something on Thursday night.

The show marked a new era for the band, as they continue following the retirement of their longtime lighting director, Jefferson Waful, who officially retired from touring earlier this week. Thankfully, former Umphrey’s Lighting Crew Chief Elliott Little stepped into the booth and did a great job throughout the performance.

The band’s opening set featured performances of “North Route”, “Push the Pig”, and “Resolution” into “Roctopus” to get the night going. The band kept the first half of the show rolling strong with “Atmosfarag” into “1348”, and continued right into “Sweetness” before returning to “1348” to close the first set. The band returned from the break to pick up the second half of their show with “All in Time”, which continued right into “13 Days”. The second half of the show featured renditions of “Red Tape”, “Wappy Sprayberry”, Alex’s House” and “Slacker” before coming to a close with the return to “All in Time”.

The show’s one song encore featured an epic mashup of Nirvana‘s “Come as You Are”, MGMT‘s “Kids”, and Dead or Alive‘s “You Spin Me Round”.

Umphrey’s continues their Labor Day Weekend run with shows at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday; and The Paramount in Huntington, NY on Saturday. Head to the band’s website for tickets and tour info.
