Just weeks after celebrating its 24th birthday in Syracuse, NY last month, Umphrey’s McGee brought its 2022 winter tour to KEMBA Live! in Columbus, OH on Thursday night.

Fresh off a two-night run at Boston, MA’s House of Blues, the Indiana-bred sextet descended upon Columbus for a jam-filled, hard-rockin’ evening in Ohio. Highlights from the first set included a “Miami Virtue” opener, as well as a take on “#5” and a “Whistle Kids” > “Wizard Burial Ground” segment to close the frame.

Members Brendan Bayliss (guitar), Joel Cummins (keys), Jake Cinninger (guitar), Ryan Stasik (bass), Kris Myers (drums), and Andy Farag (percussion) then opened the second with “Pay the Snucka”. This would remain a theme throughout the segue-laden set, as it appeared again towards the end linking “The Weight Around” and Led Zeppelin‘s “Immigrant Song”, before also serving as the closer.

Up next for Umphrey’s is a stop at The Signal in Chattanooga, TN tonight, February 20th. From there, the band will head out to Asheville, NC’s ExploreAsheville.com Arena for a two-night run on February 25th and 26th. Head to the band’s website for tickets and a full list of tour dates.
