While Umphrey’s McGee has made a number of interesting partnerships in recent years, including their own Nothing Too Fancy Ale, music for the ESPN show Around The Horn, and even an ongoing Winter 2015 Tour Log with the fine folks at Live for Live Music, the band’s newest effort takes the cake.

Umphrey’s has partnered with GTSport Racing Team, and their logo will adorn the front and sides of Jack Baldwin’s No. 73 Porsche Cayman S starting this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Apparently, the band caught onto GTS Sport Racing earlier this year, and decided to partner with GTS for the remainder of the season.

“GTSport Racing is thrilled to have Umphrey’s McGee on board for the remainder of the 2015 season,” said racer Jack Baldwin. “Their sound and energy is fantastic, I believe their involvement can bring a lot to the sport and motorsport fans will enjoy having a band to call their own.”

Meanwhile, UM manager Kevin Browning commented, “Umphrey’s is the sum of the parts, pulling from influences across a myriad of genres… Many of those styles perfectly align with the high energy, fast paced nature of racing. We’ve been known to drop the proverbial hammer, and that’s something both music and race fans can get behind.”
