Beloved jam rockers Umphrey’s McGee hit the House of Blues in Houston, TX last night, resuming their spring touring with support from TAUK. Umphrey’s brought the heat on “4/20,” delighting fans with some fiery treats of their own.

The show featured mostly UM originals, including an opener of “Miami Virtue” and classics like “Puppet Strings,” “FF” and more. The second set even featured a cover of Talking Heads’ “Girlfriend Is Better,” and a “Go To Hell” encore capped off a great show.

As the headline suggests, the band’s manager, Kevin Browning, tweeted about some virtual reality technology that was retweeted by the band. While Browning’s comment didn’t 100% confirm the use of the technology, it stands to reason that the band wouldn’t have posted it at all were it not true. Perhaps they don’t want to commit to VR without testing it out first, but, considering the Grateful Dead guys just used it in Santa Clara, it stands to reason that VR technology might be the future direction for live concert footage.
