Umphrey’s McGee has shared the official studio recording of their newest song, “Suxity”. The original song, which originally debuted at the band’s New Year’s show at Denver’s The Fillmore Auditorium, melds funk, rock, and everything in between.

According to the song’s description, “Suxity” is “A location, place, or state of being where it’s best to have your wits about you.”

Ryan Hewitt and Greg Magers produced and engineered the tune at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN. Brendan Bayliss penned the lyrics to Jake Cinninger‘s arrangement. Soulful vocals sit atop Ryan Stasik‘s thumping bass groove during the verses while a funky rhythm guitar helps to carry the groove before a heavier chorus takes over.
