While bands around the country remain off the road due to the pandemic, many are still finding ways to get together safely and entertain their fans. Umphrey’s McGee proved they are certainly no exception on Friday by announcing the Wrapped Around Nashville run of livestreams set to air January 28th—30th.
Much like the Wrapped In The Round streams that took place last year, these remote concerts will see Umphrey’s McGee go live from percussionist Kris Myers‘ studio in Nashville and playing in the round. While the band is aware that this obviously isn’t the preferred way to take in a concert for most fans, they are trying to add what excitement they can with an element of fan participation.

This three-night run of shows will see the band performing two sets each evening, with the first comprised entirely of songs voted on by the fans. Viewers will receive one ballot for each concert purchased. The second set of each show will see a setlist written by Umphrey’s McGee themselves. As an added bonus, the fan-selected show on the 29th will be performed acoustically. For the final show on Saturday, the band will also revive the “Choose Your Own” adventure format which will allow fans to vote on songs in real-time for the first set.
“Similar to the last few outings, we will also be recording by day, and with more songs nearing completion, it should be interesting to see what carries over to the night,” Umphrey’s added of the shows. “Frankly, we’re looking forward to just being together and playing anything.”
The concerts will also serve as a fundraiser for Conscious Alliance, with each purchase of a stream funding two meals for a family in need. Additionally, the band will also offer “Art That Feeds” posters for the Umphrey’s McGee x Conscious Alliance Virtual Food Drive, with each purchase of a poster providing 40 meals.
