Vampire Weekend has announced a second leg of tour dates behind the band’s latest album, Only God Was Above Us. The batch of nearly two dozen dates includes festival plays and domestic headlining shows with support from Brooklyn post-punkers Geese and Billy Joel tribute act Turnstiles [ticketing details].
The second leg of the Only God Was Above Us Tour will kick off with a couple festival sets at Just Like Heaven in Pasadena, CA on May 10th and Boston Calling on May 25th. Vampire Weekend will play its first headlining show of the year on May 27th in Essex Junction, VT, followed by dates in Portland, ME (5/29), two nights at The Met Philadelphia (5/29–5/30), Columbus, OH (6/2), Saratoga Springs, NY (6/4), Asheville, NC (6/9), Miami (6/13), and more ahead of a set at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN (6/15). After Roo, Vampire Weekend will head overseas for festival gigs in Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, France, and England before returning to the States in September to wrap the tour with shows at Borderland Music + Art Festival in East Aurora, NY (9/12–9/14), Iron Blossom Festival in Richmond, VA (9/20–9/21), and finally Oceans Calling Festival in Ocean City, MD (9/27).
