On Saturday, Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder joined Red Hot Chili Peppers for encore performances Prince‘s “Purple Rain” and a Jimi Hendrix-style take on Bob Dylan classic, “All Along The Watchtower” at the Silverlake Conservatory of Music‘s annual fundraising concert in Los Angeles.

Co-founded by Vedder and Chili Peppers’ bassist Flea almost twenty years ago, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music is a non-profit music school dedicated to offsetting the cutbacks in arts education programming throughout Los Angeles area public schools. The event was hosted by Marc Maron for the third year in the row and featured mini-sets in the parking lot of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music to a small audience as part of the benefit. Watch Flea talk about the cause below:

The Chili Peppers’ performance featured some of their biggest hits while Vedder performed a solo set of Pearl Jam favorites along with a cover of Tom Petty’s “Wildflowers”. During both sets, students from the Silverlake Conservatory appeared onstage to perform with the musicians. The evening ended with the collaborative performances of “Purple Rain” and “All Along The Watchtower”.

Watch the rockers cover Prince’s “Purple Rain” and Jimi Hendrix’s rendition of “All Along The Watchtower” after the 45-minute mark in the video below.
