When Wale released his breakthrough mixtape, 2008′s Seinfeld-inspired ‘The Mixtape About Nothing’, the rapper could only muster up a guest appearance from Julia Louis-Dreyfus via phone call. It was pretty cool, and the mixtape was incredible – but now Wale’s big time, and he’s got the big man himself on tap for the follow up album. Jerry Seinfeld will collaborate with Wale on ‘The Album About Nothing’, announced in a video released by Maybach Music Group.

It doesn’t matter how many strings Rick Ross had to pull to get this done – this is fucking awesome. If you’ve ever listened to the original mixtape, it’s truly a modern hip hop classic. Completely inspired by Seinfeld, the album is smart, witty, and funny, with references to the tv show throughout. The song titles were named just like episode titles (‘The Feature Heavy Song’, ‘The Bmore Club Slam’, ‘The Cliche Lil Wayne Feature’, etc.). There was even a really powerful song about the whole Michael Richards ordeal. But I digress…

This album should be awesome. Jerry’s pretty funny in the interview, you know Wale’s gonna go the extra mile if Seinfeld’s putting his name on it – even if it ends up just being a few skits. Check out the whole interview below.
