It seems that Warren Haynes’ new Ashes & Dust Band isn’t going anywhere come 2016. While the group previously scheduled a winter tour, the announcement that they will be performing at FloydFest in 2016 certainly increases the likelihood that Haynes will be touring the new Ashes & Dust record throughout the majority of the New Year.

FloydFest runs from July 27-31 in Floyd, VA, and features a lineup with Gregg Allman, Bruce Hornsby, Nahko & Medicine For The People and more! See more details about the festival here.

Meanwhile, Haynes remains dedicated to his new Ashes & Dust band, comprised of drummer Jeff Sipe and the members of the bluegrass outfit ChessBoxer. It’s likely that Ashes & Dust will find its way onto numerous summer festival bills, and fans may even see a second volume of songs released as an album.

“We only released about half of them so there’s another album’s worth of material still in the can and another albums worth of material that I still haven’t recorded yet.  So…this could be the start of kinda like a series,” said Haynes in a recent L4LM interview.

Of course, who knows what this means for Gov’t Mule. As of now, the band only has a Wanee Festival appearance and two-night New Year’s run at the Beacon Theatre on the schedule, which includes a three-set NYE show with Allman Brothers, The Band and Grateful Dead covers.

Whatever the case may be, we’re happy to see Warren Haynes shredding out there!
