On Saturday, December 26th, 50+ artists and hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world came together for Georgia Comes Alive, a virtual music festival aimed at promoting voter participation in Georgia’s critical Senate runoff elections on January 5th, 2021.
One of the many world-renowned performers to take part in the event was lauded guitarist/singer Warren Haynes who covered the Van Morrison classic “Into The Mystic”. This old-school Van Morrison tune is a Haynes staple and has been a part of his repertoire stretching back to his days with The Allman Brothers Band. While this acoustic cover doesn’t contain the blues guitar grit for which Haynes is known, he throws the entire weight of his emotion into the lyrics and provides subtle guitar fills when possible in this brief, 3:25 minute telling.
