Big news from Pete Shapiro and the newly re-opened Capitol Theatre keeps rolling in. Just announced is the additions of Warren Haynes, Grace Potter and Bobby Keys, The Rolling Stones sax playing sideman, to this Friday’s HeadCount benefit at the Port Chester, NY venue. With a lineup that is already loaded with the talents of The Roots and Bob Weir, this is shaping up to be an evening of jampacked talent and collaborations. The mind boggles at who else might be included in the mysterious mention of “additional guests”.
Questlove, The Roots drummer and regularly scheduled DJ at Shapiro’s Brooklyn Bowl, was in attendance last night at Bob Dylan’s show, which was the grand opening show. Warren Haynes will be back at the venue on October 11 and 12 for the “Warren Haynes Weekend”. All of the performers appearing at this show have been avid supporters of HeadCount and appear quite often at the organization’s events.
