Warren Haynes is on tour right now with his Ashes & Dust Band (AKA bluegrass trio ChessBoxer and drummer Jeff Sipe) in support of his new solo record that bares the same name, Ashes & Dust. Featuring a dynamic blend of bluegrass/folk/Americana sounds, the new record is a departure from the heavy-hitting rock of Gov’t Mule, but still remains authentically Haynes sounding.

Warren Haynes Brings Bluegrass To The Capitol Theatre

Over the weekend at the State Theatre in Portland, ME, Haynes & Co. paid their respects to original Mule bassist and former Allman Brothers Band axe man, Allen Woody, who would have turned 60 years old on October 3rd. The band dedicated a heartfelt version of “Banks Of The Deep End” to Woody as well as a debut of “It Began To Snow,” while also hitting on tunes from the new album like “Is It Me Or You,” “Company Man,” “Coal Tattoo,” “Stranded In Self-Pity,” and for good measure, mixed in covers of the Allman Brothers’ “Blue Sky” and “Jessica,” too.
