On Thursday night, a bevy of stars came together at New York City’s famed Town Hall to celebrate Bob Dylan‘s 77th birthday. The lineup included musicians like Laurie Anderson, Emily Haines, Mark Kozelek, Nels Cline, Peter Wolf, Natalie Cressman, The Milk Carton Kids, and many others.
However, when you’re as widely known and dearly beloved as Bob Dylan, the people on the bill for your birthday performances apparently extends beyond traditional musicians. Actors Bill Murray and Steve Buscemi also took their turns paying tribute to Dylan, leading the house band through “speak-sung” renditions of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and “Talkin’ John Birch Paranoid Blues”, respectively.
